State Level Sensitization and Capacity Building Workshop on Kisan Sarathi Organized at KVK Mandi, Himachal Pradesh

A State Level Sensitization and Capacity Building Workshop on “Kisan Sarathi: Content Creation, Dissemination and Advisory Services” was organized on 23 February 2026 at KVK Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, under the project “Kisan Sarathi 2.0: Enhancement, Operation, Maintenance and Support.” The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders for the effective utilization of the Kisan Sarathi platform in delivering timely and scientifically validated advisories to farmers. Dr. Vinod Sharma, Director of Extension Education, CSKHPKV, Palampur was the Chief Guest of the workshop.

Dr. Pankaj Sood, Head, KVK Mandi, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of effectively leveraging the Expert App for advisory and call services to farmers. He encouraged participants to clarify their doubts and actively engage with the technical team. He also interacted with the experts and suggested improvements and desired upgrades to further strengthen the portal.

During the technical sessions, Dr. Ashish Santosh Murai, Senior Scientist and Nodal Officer (Kisan Sarathi 2.0), ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana, along with Mrs. Kuldeep Kaur, YP-II, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana, elaborated on the new features of the Kisan Sarathi Expert App. They explained the advisory workflow mechanisms, roles and responsibilities of experts, and the integrated video calling and conferencing features. The interactive discussions enabled participants to gain clarity on the operational aspects of the platform.

A dedicated session on Kisan Sarathi Kosh highlighted content standards and approval mechanisms and demonstrated the process of content creation and dissemination. Emphasis was laid on ensuring the quality, relevance, and scientific validation of advisories. Participants were also provided hands-on training in developing location-specific and variety-wise advisories using KS Kosh, during which they actively drafted and refined advisories under expert guidance.

 

The workshop concluded with focused discussions on roll-out strategies, strengthening last-mile advisory delivery, and obtaining participant feedback to enhance the platform’s effectiveness. The program successfully strengthened the capacity of KVK and ATARI stakeholders in effectively utilizing Kisan Sarathi 2.0 for digital advisory services, thereby improving outreach to farmers through timely and credible information dissemination.
